Life after Covid-19. Try this walking idea, for groups, on the border of England and Wales

Good Old England Tours, in conjunction with the Crown at Longtown, are now offering groups, walks with accommodation, in the relatively undiscovered border region between England and Wales.

Set between the rugged Black Mountains and the gentle rolling countryside of the Golden Valley, the area in the vicinity of Longtown, Herefordshire, is the most wonderful place for walking. This is grand country with the mountainous terrain of the Cat’s Back, Hay Bluff and Hatterall Ridge, contrasting with the lush valleys of the Monnow and Dore. Both terrains contributing to a satisfying range of walks.

The Crown Inn at Longtown, will offer reasonably priced, yet comfortable accommodation which will provide the base for a series of walks organised and led by the fully trained and certified Blue Badge Tourist Guides, all from Good Old England Tours. The expert in the team is Ian Foster, who lives nearby in Malvern. He discovered the Crown when leading a group along the Offa’s Dyke route. It’s the warm welcome of the Crown Inn, combined with the easily accessible countryside which has led to many repeat visits. It is also the wonderful food and comfortable ensuite bedrooms which are all available at daily special group rates of £75* per person (includes dinner, bed, breakfast, a packed lunch and a guided walk - based on two people sharing mid-September 2019 to April 2020).
