My Lords, Ladies and Gentlefolk, we offer you an entertainment in ten short acts - our Shakespeare’s Stratford walking tour!

This rags (or rather gloves!) to riches story tells of William Shakespeare, a country boy who finds fame and fortune on the London stage as an actor, poet and playwright. Our cast list includes not only William’s family, but also a famous actor and producer who spawned the Shakespeare tourist industry, an unpopular parson who was irritated by visitors and local officials, and a man known as self-raising Flower. Our locations are streets which the great man would recognise even now and we follow Shakespeare literally from the cradle to the grave! We walk in his footsteps from his childhood home, the Shakespeare Birthplace, to his school where he learnt his ‘small Latin and less Greek’, and then from the site of his grand house, New Place, to Holy Trinity, - his church, and where he is buried. On our way back we pass three of the greatest legacies of the works of this greatest of English playwrights - the theatres that are home to the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company.

The area around our start and finish point has numerous retail outlets, cafés and restaurants and ample time can be arranged for shopping and refreshments.
